Carl Pochtler stands at the beginning of our company history. At the age of 27, he founded a pewter foundry - Karl Fischer-Pochtler GmbH.

His daughter, Rosa Fischer-Pochtler, takes over the company after her father's death. Motivated and committed, she expands production to include siphon heads and siphons.

The history of Karl Hinz & Co. is one of challenges and adaptations. During the Second World War, production inevitably comes to a standstill, but the company returns in 1951 with the support of the Pochtler family. Production resumed in 1954 under the management of the parents of the current managing director, Christian C. Pochtler. The company also showed its willingness to innovate by founding the company "Heimsyphon Karl Heinz und Co" in 1959.

In 1964, "Karl Fischer Pochtler GmbH" acquires 50% of the company "Heimsyphon Karl Hinz und Co." and renames it "iSi Metallwarenfabrik Ges.m.h.H". This lays the foundation for the company to become one of the world's leading suppliers of compressed gas cartridges. In the following years, iSi begins to develop the compressed gas cartridges that are now known throughout the world.
1975
iSi's success story shows how rapid growth and global expansion can be achieved by focusing on quality and innovation. By 1975, iSi had already achieved an export share of 75% worldwide, making the company a global player.

1978
Christian C. Pochtler (5th generation after Carl Pochtler) founds iSi Siphon of America Inc. (now iSi North America Inc.). This new iSi subsidiary is an important step in the company's global expansion and enables it to strengthen its presence in the North American market.

In 1984 Christian C. Pochtler takes over 100 percent of the shares of Fischer Pochtler Holding and thus becomes the sole managing director of the newly created "iSi Group" in the 5th generation.

1990s
iSi continues its strategy of expansion. In 1990, the company "Heimsyphon" is acquired and the new business division "iSi Components" is founded. 1995 saw the first expansion into the automotive sector with the establishment of "iSi Airbag GmbH". In 1998, iSi undertook a second transformative expansion, extending its product portfolio from creamers to innovative kitchen appliances with the introduction of Espuma technology. In the same year, "Heimsyphon" was officially renamed "iSi Germany" and the new "iSi Components" division was established. iSi was well on its way to becoming a leading global supplier of metalworking products and innovative kitchen tools.

iSi continues its global expansion and technological development. New materials are introduced, locations are opened and corporate structures are further developed. During this time, important advances are made in the development of kitchen tools to meet the needs and desires of consumers. In 2014, Christian C. Pochtler celebrated his 30th anniversary as sole Managing Director of the iSi Group.
